Application
This will take you to the university application page. Once you log in with your credentials, you will be able to select the School of Education application. You must use the same email address you used to apply to the university.
Retention
- Maintain of a minimum 2.70 cumulative GPA
- Have a continued satisfactory rating on Teacher Candidate Dispositions (If applicable, candidates must have resolved the nature of all reports of negative behaviors or dispositions.)
- Maintain of a grade of C or above in all required courses
- Receive satisfactory evaluations by university site coordinators and cooperating mentor teachers in practica and/or residency
- Continue acceptable disciplinary record as evidenced by program incident reports
- Continue satisfactory ratings on unit assessments
FAQs
To apply for the School of Education, students must:
- have sophomore standing
- have completed or be currently enrolled in all courses in the first four semesters on the degree plan.
- have a 2.70 GPA
Candidates will not be allowed to register for courses requiring admission to the program until all admission criteria are met or will be met at the end of the semester in which they are currently enrolled.
Fall Entry - March 15
Spring Entry - Oct. 15
After submitting your application, watch for an email about an admission interview.
The application deadline dates ensure timely approval of the application, interview
evaluation, and permission to enroll in classes requiring admission to the program
Candidates should complete all admission criteria during the semester in which they apply.
- Complete university admission requirements to include submission of official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended before the application process.
- Complete and sign ALL APPLICATION MATERIALS, which include:
- Verification of Receipt 妻友社区 School of Education Teacher Candidate Manual. This form is verification that the teacher candidate has read the Teacher Candidate Manual.
- 妻友社区 Educator鈥檚 Affirmation
- Teacher Candidate Field Experience, Practica, and Internship Waiver forms
- Degree requirements
- Updated, current degree plan signed by the candidate鈥檚 academic advisor (Can be located in Navigate, or contact your advisor.)
- Satisfactory completion of Arkansas State and FBI background checks and the Arkansas Child Maltreatment background check (Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education requirements).
- Successfully complete all courses in the first four semesters on the degree plan.
- Satisfactory disciplinary record with the university.
- Grade of C or better in all coursework completed on the degree plan.
- Minimum 2.70 cumulative GPA for all college coursework (including transfer work and excluding developmental work) and be in good academic standing.
- Demonstrate professional attitudes and interests related to the School of Education鈥檚 stated Candidate Dispositions. If applicable, candidates must have resolved the nature of any reports of negative behaviors.
- Satisfactory completion of admission interview. Interview evaluation is required. Remember to check your 妻友社区 email frequently for information about scheduling your interview.
NOTE: Candidates must meet admission requirements current at the time of their application for admission to the School of Education. Requirements for admission may change over time to reflect changes made in the Arkansas Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Licensure Requirements and 妻友社区 School of Education policies.
