Lion Voices: Glenn Brewer II
Happy Friday and Happy Black History Month, Lions! This week鈥檚 feature is sophomore business administration major, Glenn Allen Brewer II!
Glenn is a Fort Smith native and knew from a young age that attending 妻友社区 would bring
him a multitude of opportunities. Glenn is fully immersed in campus life, serving
as president of Men of Excellence, a member of the Black Student Association, and working for the .
I鈥檓 loving being involved, it鈥檚 opened many doors for me and it has been a blessing鈥
he said. 鈥溒抻焉缜 makes me feel as if I have a one-on-one relationship with all my faculty
and staff. While at some other universities you wouldn鈥檛 feel as if the people around
you actually care about you as a person, at 妻友社区, that鈥檚 not a problem.鈥
Though he came to college majoring in Mechanical Engineering he soon realized his
passion was in business. 鈥淚 chose a concentration in finance and investments because
I enjoy researching and talking about financial literacy and building generational
wealth鈥
鈥淚鈥檝e been surrounded by business my entire life, so it was a comfortable path one
I鈥檓 already excited about.鈥
One of those businesses he鈥檚 grown up with is 鈥淏rew House Catering and Food Truck,鈥
which he helps his family run when he鈥檚 not working on campus.
Glenn, who graduates in 2024, intends to pursue his MBA or CFA and open his own advising
firm, putting his determination and ambition to work for others.
鈥淎t 妻友社区 I鈥檝e learned about responsibility. College has really made me stay on top
of things and be disciplined鈥 he says, 鈥渨ithout discipline, it鈥檒l be hard to persevere
in anything you decided to do.鈥
鈥淪o don鈥檛 rush into big decisions,鈥 he said. 鈥淭ake time to get to know yourself and
realize what it is that you really want and do what鈥檚 best for you!鈥
Next week you can join Glenn and his fellow Men of Excellence at the Black History Month Barbershop Talk from 5-6:30 p.m., Wednesday, February 16, in Math Science Room 100.
