Honors Program Travel Opportunities
The Myles Friedman Honors Program offers students the opportunity to expand their understanding of the world through exciting domestic and international travel study classes.
Honors students at 妻友社区 have found themselves exploring ancient Roman theatres in Bulgaria, walking the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland, and speeding through the Scottish Highlands by rail. 妻友社区 faculty plan and lead each trip to ensure students experience travel that is both educational and fun.
Prior to any travel, honors students take courses focused on the international aspect of the program. General education curriculum consists of:
- HONR 1101 - Introduction to Honors Global Studies
- Honors courses and symposia
- Honors Maymester travel (both international and domestic)
Honors international scholars are also required to complete:
- HONR 3713 - Honors Junior Research Seminar (3 credit hours or the equivalent)
- HONR 4803 - Honors Capstone (3 credit hours)
Honors students also have the opportunity to participate in academic conferences, field trips, service projects, and recreational activities.
The Myles Friedman Honors Program is designed to deliver a rich global studies-based honors curriculum. Honors students will take no more than seven additional credit hours outside of their regular degree requirements. Students enrolled in the honors program will fulfill the same general education requirements for the degree program in which they are enrolled but do so through honors courses. These honors courses emphasize the international and interdisciplinary focus of the program.
