"Womb To Woman" by Briana Stone

I used to see myself
by simple body and bones—
now I understand that I am art,
not a masterpiece quite
I’m still trying to master peace,
but I am getting closer. I need
to make many more mistakes,
to break further out of my skin.
Often I wonder, who did I used to be?
Who am I now? Who have I always been?
But I don’t let the questions keep me,
if you try to make sense of everything
then nothing will. What I do know,
from womb to woman, I am endurance.
I am a force of blazing, brazen brilliance.
I am made up of wind and warmth,
free to feel, to flow. I am not
an enigma to be solved, but
an answer to be reveled in,
revealed by and by.

Briana Stone has been enjoying the craft of poetry for almost seven years now. Her ideal way of waking up involves a fresh, toasty cup of home-brewed tea and a good poetry book. Some of her favorite poets right now are Richard Siken, Emily Dickinson, and Robert Hass.
