Portraits on Demand Studio

ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Portrait Photo

The ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Office of Strategic Communications is pleased to offer professional headshots at the ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Portraits on Demand (PoD) studio.

The fully self-service was designed by a professional portrait artist to make high-quality headshots accessible to all.

All members of the ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø community — including students, faculty, staff, and alumni — may use the PoD, which is available any time the second floor of the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center is open. Typical hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Questions and Concerns can be sent to Portraits@ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø.edu.

Instructions

  • When you arrive at the campus center, take the stairs by the fireplace and head toward the ROAR First-Year Advising Center. The PoD studio is just past the ROAR desk.
  • When you enter the booth, scan the QR code, enter your email (@g.uafs.edu is preferred), follow the on-screen instructions, and control the photo booth right from your phone. The built-in screen will take you through the process if you don't have your phone. You can take up to three photos in one session (plus one retake) and choose one to edit and send to your email.
  • You are welcome to take as many pictures as you like, but please be mindful of those who are waiting behind you. While taking photos, you can choose either a three-second or six-second timer. (The 6-second timer is highly recommended.) In between photos the booth also offers tips on how to take the best professional headshot possible.
  • Please be aware that in addition to sending the photos to the email you enter, your final selections will also be stored on a ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø server and may be used for your Workday profile or ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø.edu bio.
Photos taken in the PoD cannot be used for ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø ID cards at this time.

What to Wear

  • The PoD’s background is a seamless light gray, so it is best to avoid tops in the same shade.
  • Solid colors are best, and mid-range to darker/deeper shades typically photograph best on this background.
  • Since the photo will be limited to your head and shoulders, choose a visually interesting neckline, potentially pairing your top with a jacket or cardigan.
  • Avoid tops that are too shiny or reflective, as they may photograph poorly with the PoD’s surround lighting.
  • If you find your glasses reflecting light poorly, try angling them downward by lifting the ear pieces slightly above your ears.
  • If you need new professional attire for your headshot, contact ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø Career Services to access the robust Professional Clothing Closet, which offers students free professional clothing in a variety of sizes and styles.

Appropriate Use

The photo booth provided to users for the purpose of professional headshots. Photos must not contain inappropriate gestures, props, or nudity. Please note that several ÆÞÓÑÉçÇø offices have administrative access to all photos. Inappropriate use will result in the suspension of future access to the booth as well as referral to the dean of students.
