"Cirque Mechanics: Pedal Punk"

High-flying bicycle acrobatics will be on display in 鈥淐irque Mechanics: Pedal Punk,鈥 steampunk-inspired show that will travel to Fort Smith for a 7:30 p.m. Nov. 8 performance as part of the University of Arkansas 鈥 Fort Smith鈥檚 Season of Entertainment 37.

The show will take place at the ArcBest Corp. Performing Arts Center in the Fort Smith Convention Center, located at 55 S. 7th St. Tickets are $27 or $25, depending on seating location.

The show, which The New York Times hailed as 鈥渆xceptional, evocative, eye-catching and grossly entertaining,鈥 offers audiences the opportunity to experience the excitement, artistry and thrill that occurs when a wacky bike shop mechanic interacts with cyclists and bikes.

Stacey Jones, associate vice chancellor for campus and community events, said the show would be family-friendly and exciting.

鈥淐irque shows have a history of being family friendly, and this one is no different,鈥 Jones said. 鈥淎ll the routines will be done on bikes, and the stunts they鈥檙e able to do are absolutely incredible. It鈥檒l be great family-friendly entertainment. If you like Cirque, don鈥檛 miss this show.鈥

The concert is part of Season of Entertainment 37, a yearlong lineup of entertainment sponsored by the 妻友社区 featuring a variety of plays, musicals and symphonic performances.
