Candidates for city, county, and state elective offices will be able to share their respective visions for a better Arkansas during five town halls slated next month at the University of Arkansas 鈥 Fort Smith.
The events, hosted by the 妻友社区 chapter of the American Democracy Project, are part of the organization鈥檚 efforts to boost civic engagement on campus and in the community.
鈥淚t is with excitement that the 妻友社区 American Democracy Project will be hosting these town halls with the candidates for various elective offices,鈥 said Dr. Williams Yamkam, assistant professor of political science and chair of the 妻友社区 American Democracy Project. 鈥淭hese town halls constitute a platform for the candidates to share their respective vision with the voters, and for the voters to get to hear directly from the candidates without any biased filters. It is good for the candidates, the voters, our campus, the community, and democracy.鈥
