Title IX Statute

Title IX of the Educational Amendments of 1972 is the landmark legislation that bans sex discrimination in schools that receive any federal money. Title IX is often thought of as a law that applies only to athletics programs. Title IX is much broader than athletics and applies to all or nearly all programs at 妻友社区. It reads:

鈥淣o person in the U.S. shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, or denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any educational program or activity receiving federal aid.鈥�

The 妻友社区 is committed to providing an environment that emphasizes the dignity and worth of every member of its community and that is free from harassment and discrimination based upon race, color, religion, national origin, service in the uniformed services (as defined in state and federal law), veteran status, sex, age, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, physical or mental disability, or genetic information. Such an environment is necessary for healthy learning, working, and living atmosphere. Accordingly, all acts of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and sexual misconduct as defined by this policy are prohibited.
